Your baby is 11 weeks now! They are 1.5 inches long and weigh ¼ of an ounce. That is about the size of a golf
ball. Little buds for teeth are beginning to form under the gums and many of the bones are now beginning to
harden. Movement is happening much more often as the baby stretches, kicks and on ultrasound we can now
start seeing all this quite distinctly on 3D/4D ultrasound. You will see the baby raise the hands up to their
mouth or over the head and when watching the legs kick, it looks like the baby is dancing! All these movements
start occurring more frequently and there will be periods of rest interspersed with periods of motion. These
movements will happen more often as the body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You
probably won’t feel your baby’s movements for another month or two since the baby is still so small, but you
would be able to see it on ultrasound.
