You made it to 30 weeks! Only 10 more to go until full term. Your baby weighs about 3 pounds
now and about 15 ½ inches long. The brain is developing quickly now, and you can probably feel when
the baby gets hiccups. On ultrasound, sometimes we see the baby having hiccups and, just like us, they
sometimes make a mad face when they do. Babies are very limber in the womb. They must be to make
it through the birth canal. On ultrasound, I frequently see babies with their legs in front of their face and
their nose on their knees. Their ligaments and tendons are like rubber bands and their bones don’t
harden completely until after they are born.
